The CNMV’s Head Office in Barcelona has opened its new offices in the building located at Calle Bolivia 56, in district 22@.
The inauguration ceremony of the new head office took place on Tuesday 28 September. The CNMV Chairman, Rodrigo Buenaventura, the CNMV Vice-Chair, Montserrat Martínez Parera, the Government’s representative in Catalonia, Teresa Cunillera, and the Deputy Mayor of the City Council of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, attended the event. Also in attendance were the Chairwoman of the Spanish National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC), Cani Fernández, the Financial Policy General Director of the Regional Government of Catalonia and representatives from other financial institutions and listed companies.
According to the CNMV Chairman, “the objective of the CNMV, which has been present in Barcelona for almost 25 years now, is to enhance the services for the financial sector and investors and reinforce its supervisory power in Barcelona, a place that has become increasingly important for some types of investment services”.

The building where the new CNMV offices are located is also the head office of the Spanish National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC). On 28 September, both regulators held the first joint meeting of their boards in which they addressed issues of common interest to both bodies and strategies to enhance their individual coordination actions within their respective remits.
