A group of students from the University of Lima visited the headquarters of the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) on Monday, 22 April, past. The students are pursuing a Master’s Degree in Business Law and are participating in a programme organised by the Faculty of Law of the University of Navarre, with the aim of improving their basic knowledge of Spanish Commercial Law.

During the visit, Victor Rodriguez Quejido, General Director of Strategic Policy and International Affairs, explained to them the operation and competences of the CNMV. The students asked for more details on some current issues such as the regulation of crypto-assets, Brexit and relations with Latin American supervisors, among other matters.

Finally, the CNMV Chairman, Sebastián Albella, explained to them his experience as head of the institution and its future challenges, and he also highlighted the importance of the Ibero-American Institute of Securities Markets in promoting the development of corporate finance in Latin America.
