On Monday the 5th of October, the Sixth edition of Financial Education Day was held, an initiative promoted by the Bank of Spain and the CNMV aimed at making society aware of the importance of educating all citizens in personal finance. On the day and during the previous days, more than one hundred activities were organised throughout Spain related to the slogan of the day “Responsible finance, finance for all“.

Main Event
The main event was held in “virtual” format and was attended by the Ministers for Economic Affairs and for Education, Nadia Calviño and Isabel Celaá, respectively, as well as by high-ranking representatives from institutions, which have been promoting the Financial Education Plan since 2008: the Chairman of the CNMV, Sebastián Albella, and the Governor of the Bank of Spain, Pablo Hernández de Cos. The senior lecturer in Ethics, Adela Cortina, also participated.
The traditional final of the Financial Education School Competition was held at the event. Schools that taught the Financial Education Programme during the 2019/2020 school year participated in the competition. The winner of this year’s edition was the school “Santí­sima Trinidad de Plasencia” (Cáceres) and the finalist was the Secondary Education School Rio Cabe de Monforte de Lemos (Lugo).
