The Spanish National Securities Market Commission has published a new section on its website on sustainable finance This section, which has arisen due to the increasing interest of investors and companies in this issue, contains the necessary information to know what sustainable finance is, to become aware of the main types within sustainable finance, and to keep track of all the updates in this regard.
The section contains a video, which explains in a clear and simple way, the concept of “sustainable finance” and provides information on how it is transforming the management of companies and society, as well as the challenges that it poses for supervisors and regulators.
In addition, the CNMV is going to attend the COP25 Climate Change Conference, which is taking place in Madrid from 2 to 13 December. The CNMV is going to organise a round table discussion within the framework of the “sustainable finance day” at the conference on 9 December. The Vice-Chair, Ana Martínez-Pina, is going to moderate the event in which the heads of other international regulators are going to participate and discuss the role of supervisors in the sphere of sustainable finance. COP25 is going to define the next steps in the fight against climate change related to the implementation of the Paris agreement in areas such as transparency, forests and agriculture, technologies, oceans, and financing all of this.
