On Monday, 4 October, numerous activities were carried out throughout Spain on the occasion of the Seventh Edition of the Financial Education Day under the slogan “Your finances, also sustainable”.
Main Event
The main event took place at the Bank of Spain and included speeches by the First Vice-President and Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviño; the Secretary of State for Education, Alejandro Tiana; the General Director for Consumer Affairs, Bibiana Medialdea; the Governor of the Bank of Spain, Pablo Hernández de Cos and the Chairman of the CNMV, Rodrigo Buenaventura.

The traditional final of the School Financial Knowledge Quiz was held during the event: The winner of this year’s edition was the school “Santísima Trinidad de Plasencia”, and the runner-up was the school “Sagrado Corazón Fundación Espínola”, of Coria.

Ringing of the bell
Numerous institutions prepared an extensive programme of training initiatives, aimed at all types of audiences. Worthy of note was the “ringing of the bell” promoted by IOSCO, the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), the CNMV and the Bank of Spain, by the CNMV Vice-Chair, Monserrat Martínez Parera, thus joining the initiative “Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy” and the programme “Finance for All”.

Fifth Edition of World Investor Week
The event was part of the celebration, at international level, of the Fifth edition of World Investor Week. In October and November, securities market regulators and supervisors, international financial institutions and other stakeholders organise various activities in their respective jurisdictions. Various educational initiatives and projects are carried out to raise awareness about the importance of investor education and protection.
