The Association of Financial Information Journalists, APIE for its abbreviation in Spanish, has given its Tintero and Secante awards for 2022. The first of these recognises the winner’s efforts in news reporting, transparency, and communication policy, while the Secante awards highlight the little communication activity with journalists.

On this occasion, APIE members voted to award the first runner-up prize for the Tintero Award to CNMV’s Chair, Rodrigo Buenaventura. At the ceremony held at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, Bloomberg journalist Macarena Muñoz presented the award to Buenaventura and highlighted in her presentation the role of the CNMV as a guarantor of information transparency.

The Chair of the CNMV highlighted the key role of journalists in the dissemination of information in the securities markets and in the accountability of independent institutions to society.
