For the purpose of aligning the statistical series of Investment Services Firms (ESIs) with the new regulatory framework and in order to enhance the practical value of the tables, the CNMV has implemented several features and improvements, including the following:

• All ESIs tables and series will henceforth be compiled on a quarterly basis, in line with the change in reporting frequency of ESI confidential statements introduced by CNMV Circular 2/2025, of 26 March.
• Crypto-asset information is now incorporated, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 MiCA.
• Registration data will be expanded to include additional details on the cross-border activities of domestic ESIs, as well as of EAFs (Financial Advisory Firms) and EAFNs (National Financial Advisory Firms).
• Two new tables on portfolio management by broker-dealers and brokers will be introduced (replacing the former portfolio management chart).

In addition, two new chapters, which will be published on an annual basis, will be added once data for the end of the 2025 financial year become available:

• More comprehensive information on EAFs and EAFNs (including three additional tables).
• Data on the provision of investment services (comprising seven additional tables), derived from the conduct-of-business rules reporting templates submitted by entities providing investment services (ESIs, credit institutions, and foreign ESIs and credit institutions), pursuant to CNMV Circular 1/2010, as amended by CNMV Circular 2/2025, of 26 March.
