The CNMV is to organise three events shortly on current issues of interest for the sector and investors, in compliance with the provisions of the 2022 Activity Plan. They are to be held in the cities where our headquarters are located, Barcelona, Madrid and Bilbao, and can be followed in person and online.

On Thursday, 16 June, the Fintech Conference – CNMV is to be held at its Barcelona office, to address the issue of regulating and encouraging innovation in securities markets. Issues such as distributed ledger technology in market infrastructures, the regulatory challenge of crypto-assets, sandboxes, crowdfunding, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing in investment services, among others, will be addressed at the event. Numerous sector experts, as well as the Regional Minister of Economy and Finance, Jaume Giró Ribas, of the Government of Catalonia and the Vice-Chair of the CNMV, Montserrat Martínez Parera, will be participating in the event.

On Tuesday, 21 June, the conference on the recovery and resolution of central counterparties is to be held at the CECABANK auditorium. The conference will be addressing both new regulations and their implications, as well as future challenges. The event is to be attended by those responsible for the matter at national and international bodies such as ESMA, IOSCO and FSB, as well as by relevant professional experts on the matter.

On Tuesday, 28 June,, in collaboration with BME-SIX, the CNMV is to organise a Forum on the advantages of being listed: opportunities on securities markets for Basque Country companies.

The stock exchange as an alternative for funding companies will be analysed at the event. Discussions will also be held on IPOs, the obligations of listed companies and on Growth markets. The forum will be attended by relevant personalities and actors involved in the matter, as well by the Basque President, Iñigo Urkullu, and the CNMV Chairman, Rodrigo Buenaventura.
