On 14 February 2024, the financial education department of the CNMV took part in the Assembly of collaborators of the Financial Education Plan taking place at the Directorate-General for Insurance and Pension Funds. Isabel Oliver presented the Financial Competence Framework for children and youth of the European Commission and the OECD/INFE defining the competences regarding financial literacy of children and youth at different ages and throughout the different stages of their formal education. On their part, persons responsible from the Bank of Spain gave a summary of the main results of the Financial Competences Survey.

The new collaborators of the Plan were welcomed at the assembly:

  • CUNEF University
  • The Investment Guarantee Fund
  • Fundació Bosch i Gimpera (European Pension and Welfare Systems Observatory)
  • The General Foundation of the University of Salamanca via the International Centre on Ageing (CENIE)

The organisation of coming financial education events was also discussed: the Global Money Week, and the next Financial Education Day that is to take place on 7 October 2024.

The collaborators had the chance to present their ongoing initiatives and those to be carried out as a result of the GMW. Holding these meetings intends to encourage carrying out financial education initiatives and to create synergies in relation to a common aim: the improvement of the Spanish population’s financial literacy.
