The CNMV’s Chairman, Rodrigo Buenaventura, presented yesterday the Activity Plan for 2024, which includes 42 specific objectives or actions to be carried out throughout this year, after its 35th anniversary since its creation.
During his speech, the Chair marked that the major areas in 2024 shall include “retail investor protection, focussed on ensuring product marketing clearly warns about the associated risks clearly; the correct inclusion of sustainable finance in the financial sector and the new supervisory powers arising from the regulation on crypto-assets and cybersecurity”.
The planned initiatives fall within the framework of five main strategic lines:

- Strengthening the protective framework for retail investors before new challenges.
- Revitalising capital markets to foster development and the transition towards a sustainable economy.
- Monitoring of the effects of financial and technological innovation on securities markets.
