On 8 September, the Chairman of the CNMV, Carlos San Basilio, and Vice-Chair, Paloma Marín, held a meeting with Imanol Pradales, Lehendakari of the Basque Government, and Noël d’Anjou Olaizola, Regional Minister for Treasury and Finance, to discuss corporate financing through the capital markets and business development.

The meeting was part of an institutional visit by the CNMV’s senior management to the Basque Country, during which they held several other meetings and discussions with sector stakeholders. Among others, they held a meeting with the Asociación de Empresas Familiares de Euskadi (Basque Association of Family Businesses—Aefame) to share insights on the challenges and opportunities of non-bank financing. The CNMV’s Delegate in the Basque Country, Chiqui Cabezudo, also took part in the visit.
